Overview

As a Disability Support Worker at Ide Care For You, you will be responsible for providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Manage and administer medications according to individual care plans
• Accompany individuals on outings and appointments, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Promote independence and empowerment for individuals by encouraging and facilitating their participation in decision-making processes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans and ensure effective communication and coordination of care
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings to stay updated on best practices and procedures
• Continuously evaluate and monitor the progress and needs of individuals, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed
• Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals and their families, building trust and establishing positive relationships

Required skills, tools, and years of experience

• 12 months experience in a similar role
• CPR and First aid certification
• NDIS screening check
